Dinner Planner – Week of December 21st, 2020

Christmas will look very different for us this year, but we’re going to make the best of it.  The five of us will be at my mom’s house on Long Island for the winter break, and we’re staying put the entire time.  No outings or visits, just hanging out at home.  Next year, I’d like to think will be back to the way things were.

If you subscribe to my website, look out for an announcement in a few days for sign ups for my Plant Based Bootcamp!  I have taught this 4-week course a few times and I will repeat it again in January 2021.  If you didn’t get to take it this fall, don’t hesitate to sign up.  This course was incredibly well-received, so much so that I am creating content for a Plant Based 2.0 which I will launch in February!  For my subscribers, I offer a $100 discount with the code PB100

Other administrative details:  my monthly online cooking class students, I am going LIVE on our private FB page on Sunday at 9:00 am PST.  I am doing my weekly Instagram live on Monday at 5:00 pm PST and Hubs and I are going to continue our new weekly series called Takeout Tuesdays at 5:30 pm PST on Instagram.  Hope to see you all soon!  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:Continue reading

Dinner Planner – Week of December 14th, 2020

Oooh, I’ve got a great dinner planner for you this week!  Lots of cozy, comfort foods.  On the other hand, we are doing takeout twice a week, maybe more.  The restaurants in Los Angeles are fully shut down.  No indoor or outdoor dining; takeout only.  These businesses need our support.  Many of them have reasonably priced “family meals” that can serve a family of 4, so check out some of those options.  Buy gift cards from restaurants as gifts for teachers or others on your list.  I love supporting local restaurants that are small businesses, as opposed to national chains, but the big chains employ local folks who need to work.  Just something to consider!  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:Continue reading

Dinner Planner – Week of December 7th, 2020

We made it through another week, and I’m calling that an accomplishment!  I actually put on a dress AND makeup for the first time in so many months and did a TV segment on the set of Home & Family.  That was the highlight of my week for sure!  I made the Quicker Chicken Marbella from my book Quicker Than Quick.  If you are in between shows, or caught up on The Flight Attendant, you can watch my segment here LOL.

I am supposed to do my first in-person book signing – outdoors, everyone must be masked and observe social distancing, of course – on Tuesday from 12-2 at Waterleaf in Manhattan Beach.  Would love to see you!  Just don’t get to close HA!  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:Continue reading

Dinner Planner – Week of November 30th, 2020

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We had a very small holiday with just 9 of us outside, of course.  It was still lovely and I was so very happy to see so many of your photos, emails, DM’s and comments showing me your success stories!  Thank you for bringing me into your kitchen and trusting me with your family’s important meals and gatherings.  I am truly honored.  I am going to relax the rest of the weekend with Hubs and the kiddos and try to get creative with the leftovers!

Dinner Planner – Week of November 23rd, 2020

We are in the home stretch!  The energy I have been noticing is that people are either feeling like this is going to be the easiest Thanksgiving ever because they’re cooking for 6 instead of 26 OR they are panicking because they have to cook Thanksgiving for the first time ever in their entire lives.  This is no time to put pressure on ourselves to do anything more than we are capable of.  So the dinners leading up to Thanksgiving should be EASY!  For anyone already planning ahead, Prolon is having a great black Friday sale until November 30th. Dinner Planner – Week of November 16th, 2020

I  just had the most wonderful week in Stony Brook with my mom.  The weather was a 10/10 and I was also able to see my sisters and their families and my auntie.  So special! I came home a day early because my husband’s 105-year-old Grandma Rose passed away while I was in NY.  She was very dear to me and I wanted to be there for her memorial service on Friday.  Many people in my community know her because I always post a picture with her on her birthday, and occasionally a video.  She lived a long and beautiful life, but we will miss her.

Looking forward, I will be doing more Thanksgiving prep this week like freezing stock and pie crusts, and towards the end of the week, I’ll make cranberry sauce and applesauce!  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:Continue reading

Dinner Planner – Week of November 2nd, 2020

This week is likely not going to be a quiet and calm one.  Be prepared for me NOT to make any political statement about the election.  I have family, friends, readers, students and community members who align themselves with different political affiliations.  My space and social channels are about helping you be healthier through cooking more from scratch with whole food ingredients.  My only message is “Please Vote and Let Your Voice Be Heard and Counted.”
