Dinner Planner: Week of September 18th 2017

Football season has started which is very exciting!  And coincidentally so has soccer season and for some reason Mr. Picky’s soccer games are often scheduled at the same time as the game I want to watch LOL!

Also, I have received a lot of emails from people in Florida who are still without power who want to sign up for the Clean Eating Batch Cooking online course I developed.  Week 1 started on September 11th and the cart was going to close this weekend, but Clean Eating will keep the cart open one more week through September 24!  Click here for the 7-week version and here for the 6-week Vegetarian Times version.  And, Week 1 will be available even if you have missed it.  Hoping all of you that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey or Irma are back on your feet as soon as possible!

We made it through the first week of school!  And I made it through my first week back teaching cooking classes, AKA my real job.  I had to be really organized this week for breakfast (my son needs to eat by 6:30 am!), lunch (school lunch, you know) and dinner.  Yikes!  Follow me on Instagram where I have been doing some live videos during dinner prep, and it’s not too late to sign up for my course on batch cooking that I developed for Clean Eating Magazine.  It starts on Monday!

I’ve had some feedback about posting the dinner planner earlier, on Saturdays.  Seems like many of you prefer that.  Let me know if you’d like this to continue on Saturdays or go back to Sundays.

It’s always funny that juuuust before school starts for us here at the beach, the weather finally gets hot and feels like summer.  We’re lucky that the weather rarely makes us uncomfortable, but it’s ironic the “beach days” come just after school is back in session.

Do check out the online course I developed for Clean Eating and Vegetarian Times called Batch Cooking 101.  It helps you learn how to prep ahead, set up your kitchen with the right tools, how and what to freeze, how to cook once for the whole week!  It begins on September 11, so don’t waste another minute!

I hope you all have a restorative long weekend!

I had such an incredible week with two stops in Dallas and Houston (got out just before the storm hit!)  I love meeting new people, especially ones with whom I have interacted on social media or here on the blog.   Then I was lucky enough to have two beautiful book parties hosted for me back in LA and I have a book signing Sunday 8/27 at the Barnes & Noble in Calabasas from 2:00 to 3:30!  If you have bought my book and you’re enjoying it, may I ask a huge favor?  Would you please write a review on amazon?  The more reviews I have, the more the amazon algorithm recommends my book to potential customers.  Thank you!

Also, check out Friday’s post about the online cooking course on Batch Cooking that I developed for Clean Eating Magazine.  Sign-ups are now and the 7-week course begins on September 11!

Happy Sunday!  I had a great, but quick trip to New York where I did a back-to-school segment on The Today Show. If you missed it, you can check it out here.  Now I’m in Dallas for the weekend to help my daughters get situated at college and I have a fun event happening at The Gem on Monday.  See my Events page for details!

For those of you asking about resuming cooking classes, I will be back in action in September!

Dinner Planner: Week of August 14th, 2017

I am en route from New York to LA and although I had an amazing three weeks (two of which were pure vacation), I am looking forward to unpacking and sleeping in my own bed tonight.  There’s no place like home.  I have a few meetings, one class and a lot of laundry to do in the next few days before I turn around and go back to NY on Wednesday!  Tune into the Today Show on Friday morning when I’ll be doing a back-to-school (YIKES!) segment.  Food segments are almost always between 8:30 and 9:00 am.

Then I’m off to Dallas for the weekend where I’ll be recording a podcast with the lovely Belbel sisters of A Double Dose blog and doing a book event at The Gem on Monday, August 21st at 10:00 am! See my Events page for details.

On Wednesday, I’ll be in Houston for a live segment on KHOU-TV Channel 11 on “Great Day Houston” and then a book party hosted by my dear friends Maria Kasselakis and Marcia Smart (her fantastic blog is Smart in the Kitchen.)  I am so excited to meet everyone in Dallas and Houston!

My time with my family is coming to an end.  But my older daughter’s arrived from Dallas and I could not be more excited!!  We’ll all be together at my parents’ house for a blip before my husband and I take our kids on a quick family getaway to Shelter Island.  I am already praying for no rain!  You may have followed my Instagram to see all the meals my sisters and I prepared for the crew this week.  Feel free to message me on social media or leave a comment here if you need any tips about cooking for crowd!

Dinner Planner: Week of July 31st

Truth be told, I haven’t finished my actual dinner planner for this week because my sisters and I are going to have a pow-wow tonight to plan this week’s meals together.  I returned to my parents’ house today after a lot of running around New York City, Westchester, and Connecticut for the last week.  My vacation (other than a few blog posts this week) starts now, but I am culinary director of the house this week because someone has to be!  Follow along on Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter to see what we’re up to.  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:
