Dinner Planner – Week of January 22, 2024

I am a big football fan and it is playoff season! I love having friends over to watch the games, even if my NY Giants and Hubs’s Pittsburgh Steelers are out.  Le sigh.  I’ve posted some of my favorite game day snacks on Instagram recently and I am planning a week’s worth of slider recipes in anticipation of Super Bowl Sunday!  This coming week I will be a guest chef at my heaven on earth, The Golden Door.  This is an absolute dream come true for me and such an honor.  I am so excited for this opportunity!  I’ll post here and there on Instagram :).  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:

Dinner Planner – Week of January 15, 2024

Well, the party is over and Mr. Picky is headed back to college this weekend.  He’s been a sport and has not acted like he is tired of us, but my gut tells me he is ready to go back to school where people are not asking him all day what he had for breakfast and lunch and what he did every minute of the day. Just a hunch. So Hubs and I will be empty nesters again and back to our preferred dinner of soup. LOL It is not as depressing as it sounds!  Here is your dinner planner for the week:

The new January class is up and ready for your viewing if you are a cooking class subscriber!  It is so good!  Click here to check out the menuThere are two ways to view a class and get the recipes – an all-access subscription for $29/month which gives you access to the entire library of years worth of classes, the private FB page and a live private Zoom session with me every month or just purchasing one class for $27.
It has been so fun having my son home from college.  I’m cooking some of my old favorites for him like the Deconstructed Salmon Sushi Bowls, Red Lentil Soup (from Quicker Than Quick), Spicy Caesar Salad, and Oven Baked Falafel (which I pan fry to save time!)

Dinner Planner – Week of January 1, 2024

Happy New Year! I hope you are all having a lovely holiday season! I had a truly extra special Christmas on Long Island.  All three of my kids met us there and we stayed at my mom’s house with my sisters and their families.  It was relaxing and great family togetherness. This week’s Monday Musings newsletter will be published on Tuesday, January 2 and the January cooking class will also be sent out on Tuesday, January 2.  I hope you enjoy them!

Dinner Planner – Week of December 25, 2023

Whatever you celebrate, I hope your holidays are merry and bright and shared with loved ones.  I am with my family in New York for our traditional Christmas festivities.  It is so much easier cooking for a crowd since all the kids are older now.  I just direct traffic and boss everyone around. 😉 Plus, I keep notes from year to year as to what we served, how much and if it was well-received by most – just like I do for Thanksgiving!  If you subscribe to my newsletter, the next one will be published on Tuesday 12/26 instead of Monday, which is Christmas Day.  Merry Christmas, friends!

Dinner Planner – Week of December 18, 2023

We’re in the Christmas home stretch!  I hope you’re staying healthy and sane in these last weeks of 2023.  A couple of admin notes.  I was just invited to be a guest chef at The Golden Door the week of January 21, 2024. This is an actual dream come true for me since The Golden Door is my happy place and a truly magical, transformative experience.  I will be teaching a cooking class one night and preparing dinner for all the guests with the kitchen staff on another night.  I truly cannot wait.  Let me know if you will be there that week so we can hang out.  Even better if you play pickle 😉
This Monday’s newsletter will have ideas for homemade gifts from the kitchen and ways to package them.  Subscribe for free here.  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:

Dinner Planner – Week of December 11, 2023

Oooops!  I’m a little delayed getting this week’s dinner planner to you.  So sorry!  I wish I could say I have bought all my gifts and finalized our menu for Christmas, but that is not the case!  I am headed to The Golden Door by myself today for a few days of R&R and I am very much looking forward to it. I know this is such a busy time of year and we can often put ourselves and our health last, but as much as I can, I try to cook simple meals at home, get good sleep and never skip my supplements. Stay sane and stay healthy, friends! Here’s your dinner planner for the week:

Dinner Planner – Week of December 4, 2023

We are getting into the busy season and also you may be going out more or invited to holiday parties.  This is why I make sure I plan easy healthy meals at home.  I will certainly enjoy all the festive foods when I’m out, but I don’t let my normal eating fall by the wayside when I’m at home.  I do these dinner planners to provide inspiration for your meals for the week so you can plan them in advance, but don’t think that I don’t eat a couple scrambled eggs with leftover veggies for dinner if I’m too tired to cook.  Or pull a frozen soup out of the freezer or make a saute of a bunch of chopped veggies and add some canned beans or frozen peas. On another note, my monthly online cooking class for December is up and so fabulous for any holiday dinner, either Hanukkah or Christmas or otherwise.  I would love for you to consider taking a class!  I film a new class every month with all new recipes.  You watch the class on your own time.  It is not live!  But I do host a live office hour to answer any questions you have about anything.  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:
