Five Friday Favorites 4.27.18 | Pamela Salzman

Happy Friday!  My goodness, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Five Friday Favorites post.  In general, I hope you will all bear with me while I launch my online classes.  Everything seems to be running smoothly, but all the technical stuff was way more than I had imagined and my poor blog has not had as much attention as usual.

Today (Friday) from 1:00 to 2:00 pm I am at Williams-Sonoma, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa doing a spring cooking demonstration in conjunction with C Magazine.  Come stop by if you’re in the area!  Next Thursday I am speaking at Beauty Counter’s Leadership Summit and next Friday I am speaking at the Galveston Chamber of Commerce’s annual women’s conference.  If you are at either event, please find me to say hi!

Ok, here are a few things I am loving lately:Continue reading

Happy Friday, lovelies!  I am at the Natural Foods Show in Anaheim all day today, so definitely watch my Instagram stories to follow along and see what’s new in the healthy food space.  This show is also known as Expo West and to the trade only.  You’ll see a lot of bloggers, culinary professionals, healthcare practitioners, retailers, media, and others sharing highlights.  I usually do a round-up of my favorite products and trends afterward.  Here’s last year’s post.

In the meantime, I have lots of fun things to share with you today!Continue reading

Happy Friday!!  It has been far too long since I shared some new favorites.  Here are a few things I have been loving lately:

I could write a whole post about tea. There are so many different types, flavors, strengths, caffeine levels and benefits. I wouldn’t call myself a tea purist, but I do love a cup of flavorful, full-bodied tea that isn’t bitter or overly sharp. I recently started making loose leaf tea from Art of Tea and it’s a game changer. Loose-leaf tea steeped in an infuser allows the tea leaves to blossom and expand, resulting in a greater extraction of vitamins, minerals and aromas. Whereas standard tea bags are limited by the size and shape of the bag.Continue reading

Happy Friday!  It’s time for a new Five Friday Favorites, but first some administrative business to discuss!  First off, I am thoroughly enjoying seeing so many of you jump on this pantry/freezer cleanout challenge.  I did this last year, but not in a formal way.  And this year I took the same approach.  I just mentioned on Instagram that I wasn’t going grocery shopping, but instead I was going to use what I had in the pantry and freezer. It has been very satisfying and even more satisfying has been seeing so many of you feel great about doing the same in your kitchens!  Yay for us!

Next, Clean Eating Magazine has decided to re-launch the Batch Cooking 101 online course I developed for them last fall!  Very exciting!  It’s a 6 or 7 week program, depending on if you eat animal protein, and it starts on January 15th.  For my readers and students, they have given me a discount code to offer you which is PSALZMAN50 for $50 Off.  Click here for more information.

Speaking of online cooking classes, I am going to be offering the classes I teach every month online as well.  I was going to launch them this week, but I decided to wait until the Clean Eating course began to avoid confusion.  I teach the same menu 4 days a week for an entire month at private homes in Los Angeles and since I can’t add more days to the week, I decided to film one of my classes and offer them online.  More information will be coming very soon.  But if you haven’t been able to get into one of my classes or you don’t live in the area and you’ve wanted to learn from me in the kitchen, this is it!  There will be a private Facebook page coming which will offer daily support as well as regular FB Lives to offer real-time interaction.  I will be filming this month’s class within the next few days and then I’ll be ready to put it out there.  I am super excited!!

Ok, onto the faves!  Here are some things I have been into lately:Continue reading

Five Friday Favorites 10.06.17

It’s been so nice to be back teaching again.  Last month’s cooking class recipes were so, so good and I know everyone is waiting for me to post them, but we have a lot going on right now with Halloween and Thanksgiving right around the corner.  Patience, patience!

I’ve also been doing more Instagram Lives where I jump on Instagram and we can all interact live and you can ask me questions.  It’s been fun!  I need to figure out how to save them and share them on FB.

Here are some things I have been really into lately:

Five Friday Favorites 09.22.17

Oooh, I know I haven’t posted one of these in a while!  And it’s not for lack of favorites. I’ve just been having a hard time keeping up with everything, to be honest.  A lot of people say to me, “how do you do it all?”  Truthfully, I don’t do it all.  Not even close.  I do what you see, but there’s a lot that slips through the cracks, like these posts!  But now that I’m back teaching again, it’s a great time to share some of the things I am loving right now.

First a few administrative details!

I’ll be at Interabang Books in Dallas on Monday, September 25th at 7:00 pm for a talk, Q&A and book signing.  Please come say hi!

I’m doing a cooking demo and book signing at Room at the Beach in Malibu on Thursday, September 28th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Cooking demo at 2:00, book signing before and after. I’d love to see you!

For people who lost power for an extended period of time due to a hurricane, Clean Eating is keeping the cart open for my Batch Cooking 101 Course through Sunday.  You can still sign up and we’ll help you get caught up!Continue reading

Five Friday Favorites: July 14th, 2017

Happy Friday!  I haven’t done one of these Five Friday Favorites in a while and I have a few new things I am excited to share with you!

Mae Ploy Yellow Curry Paste

If you have my new cookbook, you may have come across a recipe for a quick vegetable curry that calls for yellow curry paste.  When developing that recipe, I searched high and low for a really fantastic, authentic, and clean Thai yellow curry paste, which led me to this Mae Ploy yellow curry paste that I am just crazy about.  There are many different kinds of Thai curry pastes and yellow is my favorite.   There’s so much flavor from garlic, shallots, ginger and lemongrass.  I love having this in the fridge for a last minute punch of flavor.  It would take a lot of time and a lot of random ingredients to make the same paste from scratch.  It is a little spicy, but you don’t have to use a lot.  It is available on Amazon with free prime shipping!
