Dinner Planner – Week of September 26, 2022

Happy Jewish New Year, to all of you who are celebrating. May it be a sweet year for all!  Time flies, my friends. We are in the last week of September and I have my sights set on fall holidays. I receive a lot of holiday-related questions, so I thought it was a good time to do a webinar!  I am hosting a FREE webinar on entertaining tips this Wednesday at 5:00 pm PT. It will run about an hour and you do not have to attend live, BUT I will be answering questions during the webinar. Registrants will have 48 hours to watch the recording if you cannot attend live.  I am trying to help you put the “entertain” in entertaining!

Here’s your dinner planner for the week:

Dinner Planner – Week of September 19, 2022

I haven’t done a webinar since the early days of the lockdown, so I am long overdue for another one!  I have been getting more and more questions about entertaining (something I love to do!) and with some of the grand slam holidays approaching, I thought a session could help you jump start the season with confidence and a plan.  If you are already a pro and have nothing to learn, feel free to sit this one out!  For those of you who have questions or just need a little support, sign up for my free entertaining webinar here. The date is September 28th at 5:00 pm PST and it will be recorded if you can’t watch live.  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:

Dinner Planner – Week of September 12, 2022

Don’t miss your chance to join Raising Healthy Eaters! We start this week and I have two different days PLUS an extra for this course – bonus “office hours” on Thursdays at 5:00 pm PT if you need extra support or you can’t attend the live Q&A during the class times. All classes are recorded if you can’t attend live.  Use the code KIDS100 for $100 off. Payment plans available too!

Newsletter subscribers, I’m hosting an in-person meet and greet on Saturday 9/17 at 9:00 am in Manhattan Beach. RSVP for the address!  Here’s your dinner planner for the week:

Meatless Monday: Baked potato night with a great topping bar (vegan mac and cheese sauce, broccoli, salsa, black beans, sauteed onions are my favorites)

Tuesday: Skillet pesto chicken and rice, you can add anon-starchy vegetable of your choice or a green salad

Wednesday: Brown-Butter Miso Glazed Wild Salmon. I suggest roasting veggies on the same baking sheet using either asparagus or broccolini and drizzling it with olive oil and sea salt before roasting it in the oven and/or some sautéed mixed mushrooms with garlic.

Thursday: Harira (I often leave out the chicken and swap in a pound of cooked chickpeas.)

Friday: Easy Chinese Chicken served with a side of brown rice and steamed vegetables.

Saturday brunch: Kale, mushroom and brown rice bake  (or use whatever leftover cooked vegetables you have)

Sunday: Oven baked gigantes beans with tomato, dill, and feta, with either a nice piece of fish or go vegetarian with some simple cauliflower steaks

Here’s what you can do in advance if it helps you:

Sunday:

Bake potatoes

Make cheese sauce

Make pesto

Make spice mix for chicken and rice

Wednesday:

Make stock if using homemade

Thursday:

Cook brown rice

Friday;

Cook beans

Sauté veggie mixture for brown rice bake

So much happening right now!  Where do I start?? The September cooking class is UP.  The menu is: Oven “Fried” Chicken + a bonus recipe for Vegan Crispy “Chicken” Patties, Greek Salad with Olive Vinaigrette, One Pot Quinoa with Veggies and Chickpeas (my new obsession), Zucchini Planks (I’ve made these once a week for 2 months!), and Monster Cookie Bars that are actually flourless and full of fiber and protein.  If you are not taking my monthly cooking class, you are missing out on so much!  You know all these recipes you see on the site that you love? Those were cooking class recipes a year or two prior to being published!

Raising Healthy Eaters is happening again! We start the week of September 12th and I have two different days PLUS an extra for this course – bonus “office hours” on Thursdays at 5:00 pm PT if you need extra support or you can’t attend the live Q&A during the class times. This class has changed lives!!

If you are subscribed to my newsletter, don’t miss an invitation in the next newsletter to get together in person the morning of September 17th in Manhattan Beach. This is not an event or book signing, just a private meet-and-greet. I’d love to get together! Here’s your dinner planner for the week: Continue reading

Dinner Planner – Week of August 22, 2022

This weekend is the big Drop-Off!!  Mr. Picky is going to college.  If you think YOU can’t believe it, how do you think I feel??  Because I’m traveling on Monday, I can’t do my regular Monday IG Live at 5.  If I get my act together, maybe I can try to do it on Tuesday.  I’ll post on Instagram if I can.  If you are looking for a little help with school lunches or even bring-to-work lunch, I have a free PDF that I created for you!  Click here for the download. Dinner Planner – Week of August 15, 2022

This is my son’s last week at home before we take him to college.  Yes, Mr. Picky is going to college.  I am literally teary-eyed as I type this.  Mr. Picky is my last child, and also a ray of sunshine and the kindest, most wonderful young man. I love having him around and truly enjoy his company and dry wit, his thoughtfulness and curious mind.  I am very excited for him to begin this new phase of his life, but I am going to miss him.  I just am.  Maybe I’ll convince him to partner with me on my IG live on Monday.

On another note, thank you for all the positive feedback on my new newsletter!  If you are not on my email list, don’t hesitate!  I’m sending out a free newsletter every week with lots of great tidbits, advice, product recommendations, exclusive recipes, and more.  Sign up here!  Here’s your dinner planner for the week: Continue reading
